THE FOLLOWING IS JUST A ROUGH DRAFT... just thoughts for now, we'll nail it down soon ;-)

If you are a musician/vocalist joining our event for the first time, welcome!

Those who have been playing together now for a while understand our vibe and style, in fact they all helped create it. For newcomers, here are some guidelines for playing with us successfully:

• You should be proficient with your instrument and/or voice, otherwise stick to small percussion instruments that are simple to play. 

• You should be familiar with how to play/sing with other musicians in a collaborative way, listening to the others.

• Attend a Friday event without expectations and when you arrive, speak to the event organisers before attempting to jump in. We will help you join the other musicians on or near the stage in the best possible way for everyone.

• Never expect to play more than 2 songs, especially if you are new to the scene.  Avoid the "prima donna" complex. Allow for an organic process to unfold that arises from an attitude of humility and collaboration and is driven by a genuine feeling of mutual enthusiasm and respect.

• We are a music community, not simply a cover band. We do some cover songs in a creative, unique style, we also do songs created by our members, and we often just break into improvised jam sessions that seek to bring the band together with our audience and produce a "big heart" experience. 

• We are not trying be the traditional "jam session" type of event, so the guidelines above will help you get the most out of our time together. Listen to your heart which always knows "what works" and what doesn't.
